Dr. Ziv Peled, Fellowship Trained Nerve Surgeon

Dr. Ziv Peled is a board-certified, Harvard-trained plastic surgeon and peripheral nerve specialist who utilizes his expertise to treat chronic headaches and nerve pain with long-term surgical solutions.

In equal measure, Dr. Peled applies these advanced nerve-preserving and restoration techniques to mastectomy surgeries for both breast reconstruction and gender-affirming procedures, drastically improving functional results and patients’ quality of life.

About Dr. Peled
Peled Surgery

“I believe an informed patient is a good patient. Irrespective of a person’s situation—whether they are candidates for surgery or not—my patients always leave with a plan for care and understand why I recommend or don’t recommend certain treatment pathways.”

– Dr. Ziv Peled

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Pioneer of sensation-preserving mastectomy

During his education at Harvard, Dr. Peled encountered complex nerve problems and learned special techniques that transformed his approach to surgery and patient care. He later completed a 10th year of specialized postgraduate training focused specifically on peripheral nerve surgery, solidifying his experience in treating chronic, nerve-mediated pain at its source.

Today, he dedicates his practice to helping patients find real, lasting relief—often after years or even decades of living with chronic pain.

He has lectured numerous times, both nationally and internationally, on various aspects of peripheral nerve surgery and has performed surgeries to showcase these advanced techniques in Ecuador, Switzerland, Brazil, and Denmark.

His contributions to headache surgery were recognized by his peers in his election as President of the Migraine Surgery Society from 2023 to 2024. He now serves in the Immediate Past President role for the same Society and advises the current leadership on future initiatives.

He is also nationally and internationally recognized for his collaborative work with his wife, Dr. Anne Peled, a board-certified breast and plastic/reconstructive surgeon. Together, they developed the Sensation-Preserving Mastectomy, a technique that has since advanced care for patients undergoing mastectomy.

Headache Surgery

Relief From Chronic Headaches Isn’t Just Possible—It’s Probable

Peled Surgery is your destination for finding relief from chronic headaches. Dr. Peled routinely performs headache surgery using nerve decompression and repair techniques for patients suffering from various types of chronic headaches, including occipital, temporal, and frontal pain. These headaches are often caused by compressed or damaged nerves, sometimes in locations patients wouldn’t expect.

By identifying the root cause and performing a targeted nerve procedure, Dr. Peled’s procedures can often provide lasting relief. For many patients, this reduces or eliminates the need for medications, injections, and repetitive treatments.

About Headache Surgery

Signature Sensation-Preserving Procedures

Sensation-Preserving Mastectomy

Traditional mastectomy procedures often leave patients numb across much of their chest, leaving them at risk for unrecognized injury and without the ability to appreciate simple pleasures such as a loved one’s embrace.

Dr. Ziv Peled and Dr. Anne Peled combine their surgical skills in nerve surgery with breast surgical oncology and reconstruction to perform the Sensation-Preserving Mastectomy. This technique can treat or prevent cancer while preserving or restoring sensation that would otherwise be lost, ultimately resulting in a higher quality of life.

About Sensation-Preserving Mastectomy

Sensation-Preserving Top Surgery

Your gender-affirmation procedures should bring you closer to your authentic self, not rob you of normal function and feeling. Traditional top surgery often leaves patients without normal sensation or with painful sensation, thus limiting function.
An evolution of his cisgender mastectomy work, Dr. Ziv Peled can preserve or reconstruct nerve function during gender-affirming top surgery to give patients the aesthetic results they desire with the functional and sensory outcomes they deserve.
